Kathy's House

In loving memory of Kathy Harris Wisenbaker

Opened in February, 2007 our women’s program was launched in honor of Kathy Harris Wisenbaker. Wife to our founder Scott Wisenbaker, Kathy's life was cut short as she sought refuge in prescribed medication only to lose herself to the deadly grips of addiction ultimately taking her own life. This tragic scenario plays out all too often. Kathy's death was the most significant contributing factor to the birth of our organization.

Like the very birth of our organization this house for women came from a real need combined with prayerful consideration and action when the time became apparent.

Once the decision was made to move forward a single phone call resulted in a leased property that very same day which served us well for a period of two years. By October 2009 we found ourselves housing these precious women in two locations still in need of even more bed space. This led to another single phone call and again on the very same day we had our new house for women. Our new "Kathy's House", a place for the women we serve to call home.

What has taken place within our women's houses is nothing short than a wholesale of modern day miracles. Children have been reunited with mothers, daughters have come home freed from their addictions, students have returned to and completed higher education, professionals have regained their standings, and most importantly lives have been spared.
