Before I got to Solutions of North Texas, , I had struggled with addiction for 12 years. I tried everything I could think of to conquer my addiction to drugs, but for some reason I inevitably kept on getting high. I finally reached a point where I wanted nothing more than to quit, but for some reason I kept going back no matter how much I avoided temptation. I finally gave up on trying to quit and accepted the fact that I was going to use drugs for the rest of my life and there wasn’t anything I could do about it. I got to a point where life was intolerable; I didn’t want to live, but I didn’t want to die either.

At this point I knew I had two options: continue to barely maintain in life and have my fate cut short, or seek help. I went to counselors, psychologists, doctors, and treatment centers but nothing seemed to achieve any progress. One of my counselor recommended Solutions of North Texas so I gave them a call. Solutions provided me with the structure I so badly needed. More importantly, they provided me with the tools I needed to stay sober throughout the thick and thin. I have been sober since 11/9/09 and am about to graduate with a degree in psychology and addiction studies. I no longer have to worry about whether I am going to use or not, and for once in my life, I have a true sense of freedom.
